Willy Salzmann was fascinated by the search for innovative ideas applicable to the construction of the vehicles. Soletta, which precedes the compact cars whose Minis were going to be the best illustration, uses symmetrical doors reversed in order to reduce the production costs and its engine is assembled under the seats. It is however its rocking axle which constituted the marketable element most interesting.
The Soletta is based off a Renault 4 CV.
The sole prototype was displayed at the 2005 Geneva Auto Show as part of their vintage display celebrating 100 years of automotive progress.
