Enjoy a special evening from 6 to 9 p.m. Aug. 23 at Lahaina Galleries at The Shops at Wailea when it presents an art show of Masterful Miniatures.

This unique and time-honored art form traces its roots back to the book paintings and illuminated manuscripts in the seventh century.

A work of fine art in miniature is a particularly personal object that draws the viewer into an intimate, concentrated little world that is breathtaking in its composition and execution.

Attending artists will be Ronaldo Macedo, Robert Lyn Nelson, Andrea Razzauti, Steve Turnbull and Caroline Zimmermann. Artists not attending but on display include Guy Buffet, Dario Campanile, Cheryl Kline, Larissa Morais, James Scoppettone, Roy Tabora and Lori Wylie.
